About This Project

High-quality, same-day root canals

Today, with a special dental procedure called root canal therapy you may save infected teeth that may at one time only have been pulled. With the most modern equipment available, Van Buskirk & Krischke DDS, LLC have taken root canal therapy (that usually entails 1 to 3 visits) to a same day service in most cases. Our patient’s comfort is our main concern. Post-operatively, most patients experience little or no discomfort after root canal therapy.

Inside each tooth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth, it runs like a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don’t remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. After the infected pulp is removed, the pulp chamber is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Then a crown is placed over the tooth to help make it stronger and prevent it from fracturing.

Left without treatment, pus builds up at the root tip, in the jawbone, forming a “pus-pocket” called an abscess. An abscess can cause damage to the bone around the teeth, swelling, extreme pain and possibly serious illness.

Your root canal treated tooth could last a lifetime, if you continue to care for your teeth and gums. However, regular checkups are necessary. Our hygienists monitor the restored teeth annually with an x-ray as suggested by the American Dental Association.

Only the most gentle tooth extractions.

When conventional restorative methods are unable to save a tooth, an extraction may be required. Today, tooth removal is far less painful than ever before due to highly effective anesthetics and the 50+ years of cumulative experience of Dr. Van Buskirk and Dr. Krischke. In many cases, patients experience little or no discomfort and only minimal bleeding. Our staff will make sure you’re cared for in a gentle manner, ensuring your comfort throughout the procedure.
