Dear VB&K Patient,

We hope this letter finds you happy and healthy. We want to take a moment to remind you that our top priority is always your health, safety and well-being. As we fully reopen our practice, we do so with the same caution, highest standards and preparation for preventing the spread of infection that we always have and will continue to implement.

We are vigilant in monitoring and maintaining the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Dental Association for infection control related to COVID-19. We are confident that when we open our doors on April 27, 2020, our existing protocols go above and beyond those recommendations to keep you safe.

We are always committed to implementing safety protocol. In addition to our existing extensive measures, you should anticipate noticing the following protective efforts when you enter our dental clinic:

  • All patients answer a screening questionnaire. Appointments rescheduled if risk of patient transmission of illness, including COVID-19 has been determined.
  • Face shields will also be worn with masks and gloves by staff depending on procedure.
  • Thorough disinfection of office and waiting area. Wiping down touch screens and credit card machines after each use and regularly disinfecting bathrooms, furniture, doors and handles has always been implemented. No-touch hand sanitizer stations are also now available for staff and patient use.
  • Highest standards of disinfecting protocol in our exam rooms. Disposable plastic wrap for furniture changed between patients and all surfaces disinfected with a chemical germicide between each patient have always been common practice. Now increased ventilation has been added to remove aerosols.
  • Increased PPE for all staff who provide dental care. Gowns, face shields, and N95 masks have been added to our existing extensive protective gear.
  • Aerosol control through High Volume Evacuation (HVE) during dental procedures. We have an existing HVE Adapter which helps remove more than 90% of aerosols created during procedures. Air purifiers that completely cycle the air, three times every hour, have been added to operatories.

In addition to our efforts, we ask for your cooperation and support with the following temporary safety measures as we work through this ever-changing situation:

  • Maintain social distancing practices in our waiting room. Chairs will be six feet apart.
  • Wait in your car upon arrival (if waiting room is full) if possible. Give us a call to let us know you’ve arrived and we’ll notify you when we’re ready for you to come in.
  • Have your temperature taken.
  • Please do not bring friends or relatives who do not have a scheduled appointment if possible. Only scheduled patients will be allowed in the treatment areas. We understand if you are a caretaker or are assisting the disabled.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we all work towards maintaining the highest safety measures when you return to our practice. We promise to keep you updated through this dynamic situation. In the meantime, maintain good oral care and we look forward to making you smile soon!

Take Care and Stay Well,
Dr. J. Michael Krischke

Cover Multiple Smile Flaws With Dental Veneers in Crown Point

If you have many crooked teeth or a misaligned bite, we can correct your smile with orthodontics. For only a few crooked or misshapen teeth, dental veneers in Crown Point may be a better choice. They’re often called “instant orthodontics,” thanks to their ability to quickly conceal these and other smile flaws like chips, slight gaps, and stains. We use ultra-thin Lumineers veneers. In addition to their versatility, they are:

Get the smile you've always wanted

Veneers are a conservative way to improve a smile almost instantly. Veneers, in particular, offer a quick solution to aesthetic problems. You don't have to go through two years of orthodontics. You can instantly change your smile in one day. If you have cracked or broken or discolored teeth that you want to have fixed, it's one of the more conservative methods that requires less tooth removal. We're always thinking about tooth preservation here, so here's a solution that doesn't involve a whole lot of drilling, which appeals to everyone, I'm sure. If you want that bright, white smile that you always wanted to have, we can do that here for you at VB&K.

  • Quick – Typically we’ll take careful measurements for your veneers during your first visit, then attach them to the front surfaces of your teeth on a second visit. That’s why they’re called “instant” orthodontics!
  • Conservative – We remove only a sliver of enamel from your tooth’s surface to prepare it for a Lumineers veneer. Unlike some veneers, Lumineers are completely reversible.
  • Natural Looking – Lumineers are made of a translucent material that looks a lot like your tooth enamel.
  • Durable – With proper care, your veneers should last up to two decades.
  • Proven – Lumineers have been on the market for more than 30 years.
  • Easy to Maintain – You just brush and floss your teeth as usual after you get your veneers. They need no special treatment to stay beautiful.

To see if Lumineers are right for your smile, call Van Buskirk & Krischke DDS, LLC at 219-641-3422 to schedule a free cosmetic dentistry consultation.

Dental Veneers at VB&K DDS, LLC

For years now, I've been doing Lumineers, which are nationally advertised, porcelain veneers that fit on the front of your teeth. The advantages are little or no tooth preparation and immediate improvement of the smile. A long-lasting restoration that looks good for a long time. There's nothing like the look in someone's eyes when you fix their front teeth and first hand them the mirror, and they see what their teeth look like now. I mean, I can make grown men cry, you know? And women. It's extremely rewarding for me. I actually went to California years ago and learned how to do them from the guy that invented them. And it was a clinical course we took in a TV studio, and we watched him do a patient while we were in the studio and it was being broadcast all over the world for other people taking continuing education. It's a very satisfying and aesthetic improvement that most people love 'em.

Getting veneers will likely require only two visits to our office. Still, we know it can be tough to fit dental appointments into your busy schedule. So we offer extended hours. We’re open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

For more information on dental veneers in Crown Point or our other cosmetic dentistry services, call Van Buskirk & Krischke DDS, LLC at 219-641-3422.
