I had traditional braces and he just like every month when I came in just made sure that everything was going good and changed my wires. And originally I had a tooth in the middle of my mouth and then I … it’s now in the front and everything. It was really smooth. Like I thought it was going to be very crazy because my teeth were awful, but he actually made it really smooth and it went a little bit longer than we thought but that’s because things came up that we didn’t know were going to come up and like I had baby teeth that had never fallen out so he had to pull those.
And so I think it just was like it went longer but they came out better because it went longer. In the beginning I didn’t want to take pictures. My dad had printed a picture on a blanket for my mouth. I was like, “No, that’s not going to work.” I don’t like smile and now like I’m always smiling and I’m a lot more happier and confident like in school or in public.
I would recommend here because they are just always so nice and everything they do comes out fantastic. You won’t regret coming because they’re … they tell you if something’s going to hurt and usually nine times out of 10 it doesn’t hurt. You don’t feel anything. If you’re looking for somewhere where you’re going to be relaxed, calm and everybody’s nice, this is a really nice place to come to.
You reach into the bag of candy, which you bought to share with trick-or-treaters. Having a few pieces for yourself won’t hurt anyone … at least that’s what you were thinking.
When you bite down on that first piece, however, you learned that you were wrong. An unexpected pain shoots through your mouth. You’ve bitten into something much harder than you expected, and now you have a cracked tooth. The pain is surprisingly intense. You realize this is a dental emergency.
So, what should you do?
If you live in or near Crown Point, IN, we hope you will call 219-641-3422 to reach our team at Van Buskirk & Krischke DDS. We want to end your pain and restore the appearance and function of your cracked tooth.
Get Help ASAP
Dental emergencies don’t happen on a schedule. They can happen anytime and anywhere, which is why we have a 24-hour answering service for our practice. If you are having a problem, we want to know as soon as possible, so we can help you address your situation faster.
Now, emergency dental situations can lead to some dental anxiety, even for patients who are generally comfortable getting routine care. Our team will do everything we can to put your mind at ease and to block any pain you may be feeling as a result of your particular condition.
We use a local anesthetic to minimize any pain you may feel during the treatment. When your mouth is numb, we can do what needs to be done. Depending on the situation, we may need to schedule a follow-up appointment to repair your smile.
With the example in our introduction, we could create an abutment and give you a temporary crown before you leave. Moving forward, we can get a permanent crown to restore the function of your damaged tooth and the appearance of your smile.
Be Proactive
You can’t know exactly when and where a dental emergency will arise. If you could, you would avoid those situations. Nevertheless, you can take steps to reduce your risk of these kinds of problems.
First and foremost, you should be practicing good preventive care. Daily brushing and flossing combined with regular professional cleanings and exams can help you avoid and remove plaque and tartar buildup. This can prevent tooth decay or gum disease, or at least give our team time to catch those problems in the early stages for easier treatment.
Second, if you play sports, then you should be wearing an athletic mouthguard every time to practice or compete. We can design a custom-made mouthguard to provide the best possible protection against dental injuries.
